The current crisis does play to and leverage our strengths but it’s clear that our positive outcomes aren’t by chance – they are the result of deliberate decisions made to benefit our clients.

Calkins Law Firm is a top-level, highly decentralized, and technology-driven law firm. For these reasons we were able to successfully take on the current, challenging business environment. Flexibility and the ability to quickly pivot are built into our firm’s structure. So when it became clear that remote working was the best and safest option, we were ready. In fact, because we are always focused on how best to serve clients, we adopted remote working long before anyone heard of COVID-19. Our hub and spoke approach to organization design allows for quick maneuvering and smooth transitions when change is required.

At Calkins Law Firm we proudly utilize technology to the maximum degree. We are thereby able to facilitate confidential communication, both internally and with clients. These efforts are made to deliver our clients the efficient, affordable, and reliable outcomes that they expect and deserve. We know that our clients are challenged in their businesses every day and are not in a position to waste time or assets. Coming in with that mindset leads us to abhor business bloat and inefficiency, and to avoid it in every way. Pandemic Musings

Here at Calkins Law Firm, the COVID-19 pandemic weighs heavy on all of us. The havoc that this unforeseen event has wreaked on businesses and on the country as a whole is heartbreaking. And worse yet, this crisis will likely continue to haunt society and expose vulnerabilities for some time. We feel especially acutely the efforts and sacrifices of our front line workers – we can’t thank them enough.

As most crises do, the current pandemic can refine and build up our strong points, but that’s a small win compared with huge losses we’ve seen nationally. At Calkins Law Firm we value the strength and resilience that adversity can distill, but we would never wish for such a hardship to come. Now that we are all faced with the challenge, we are simply doing the best we can, while also hoping for progress and eventual defeat of the virus. That’s just our nature. So we are hopeful and positive, looking to the future when a reliable treatment or cure will become available.

Standing Tall

We read and hear daily that COVID-19 has defeated America, and we acknowledge that in many respects it can feel that way. But at Calkins Law Firm we avoid wringing hands and gnashing teeth. Instead, we choose to plant our collective feet and to plow forward in the service of our growing list of clients.
