Jacob Hailperin-Lausch recently completed his academic training and began his legal career. He is well-prepared to help business owners navigate the legal hurdles and requirements that they will encounter throughout the life of their company.
Jacob Hailperin-Lausch graduated cum laude from the College of Wooster in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He then attended Case Western Reserve School of Law where he was on the board of the Journal of International Law. During his time at Case Western Reserve, Jacob won the title of Best Orator in the Dean Dunmore Moot Court Competition. He carried on skill building during law school, gaining valuable experience by handling plaintiff defamation litigation for Minc Law. Mr. Hailperin-Lausch graduated from law school and passed the Ohio bar exam in 2020. Jacob became licensed to practice in the Northern District of Ohio in 2021.
Mr. Hailperin-Lausch found his time at Minc Law to be instructive and meaningful. He especially enjoyed supporting and advocating for businesses and individuals as he helped to both protect and repair their reputations. Jacob also became adept at utilizing the 1998 Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to protect his clients’ online intellectual property. This is a skill that Calkins Law Firm is happy to add to their collective legal expertise.
Jacob Hailperin-Lausch has benefitted from real-world experience since his 2020 graduation, even founding his own law firm. Having worked closely with a mentor who boasts more than 50 years’ experience in the legal realm, Jacob has helped business owners navigate all aspects of business law, from formation to eventual sale and the litigation that can happen in the interim. Now that he has joined Calkins Law Firm, Jacob looks forward to getting to know current clientele and also welcoming new clients in the fields of civil litigation and transactional work for small and medium-sized businesses.
Mr. Hailperin-Lausch is passionate about volunteering for The College of Wooster’s pre-law department and spends much of his free time helping the next generation of lawyers find success. During his off hours, Jacob can often be found at home, where he enjoys creating various culinary delights and spending time with his fiancé and their two cats.
